Helping board members become more confident, effective partners in philanthropy
Board members join nonprofit boards because they care deeply about the mission and want to make a meaningful difference. Board service brings many opportunities to contribute leadership, insight, and support — including playing a role in the organization’s philanthropic success. For many board members, the idea of “fundraising” is one of the more uncomfortable aspects of board service.
This package is designed to change that.
Rather than pressuring board members or expecting everyone to engage in the same way, this experience helps board members understand how fundraising actually works and how they can participate in ways that feel authentic, effective, and aligned with their individual strengths. The result is greater confidence, clearer expectations, and a board that is more engaged — and more supportive — of your organization’s fundraising efforts.

Facilitated Board Engagement & Philanthropy Workshop
(2-hour session with a short break, or two 1-hour sessions)

Board Engagement Preference Survey
A simple pre-session survey designed to identify how each board member feels most comfortable contributing — helping leadership align people with roles that fit their strengths, interests, and capacity.
Personal Engagement & Philanthropy Style Coaching
Board members are encouraged and coached to develop a personal approach to engagement and philanthropy that fits their personality, networks, and comfort level — rather than a one-size-fits-all expectation.
Proven Tools and Practical Techniques
An introduction to tested tools and techniques used across successful organizations to help board members understand what effective engagement looks like — and why it works.
Interactive, Low-Pressure Practice Exercises
Well-structured, supportive exercises that allow board members to practice conversations and approaches in a comfortable, judgment-free environment.
Customized Training Materials
Preparation of all training materials, including a Board Members Guide to Effective Philanthropy that participants can reference after the session.

Bonus Follow-Up Support
Two 30-minute Zoom follow-up sessions at approximately 30 and 60 days to answer questions, reinforce learning, and support continued momentum.
